How to Turn Kids on to Science

6 Great Reasons to Attend!

  1. Fifty Dynamic, High Energy, High-Interest Activities

Learn how to weigh sound, pour light, create a chicken symphony, command blood to appear, and produce a variety of safe but breath taking fireballs. 50, knock-your-socks-off lab activities presented with our very own seriously funny twist on teaching. Bring home sewer maggots, make it snow not once but twice, grow gnomes , summon genies, and recover skeletons from owl puke (dry, of course). You will never have 5 minutes of “dead” class time ever again.
  2. Reliable, Classroom Tested Materials

You will receive a kit full of goodies to use at the workshop and then take with you at days end. The rocks are big, the chemicals react, and the widgets are quality. No cheap, rickety crap. We also offer huge science kits for your Classroom (stuff for 30 kids) or Grade Level (120 bambinos, labbing it up). More information at the workshop.
  3. Science Fair Projects, Science Olympiads, and Family Science Night

We will show you how to make sure that your kids are using the scientific method to create their Science Fair projects. We will also give you an 8 week outline for the kids, grading sheets, templates for reports and presentations, and suggestions for formatting your competition. Then, celebrate the end of your school year with a Science Olympiad and a myriad of competitions that are fun, stimulating, and educational. Finally, we will show you how to hold a Science Family night that everyone can get their hands-on and laugh.
  4. Learn 8 Easy Steps to Get Your Science Lab Organized!

You will walk into this workshop and learn, first hand, how lab groups are organized, the procedure during lab time, how materials are stored and distributed, and the protocol for scheduling and using the lab. 8 Steps to a Great Science Program will be our guide.
  5. State Specifics Books and Kits Available to Peruse

Teacher demonstrations, hands-on labs, home grown science fair ideas and discovery centers will be presented to you in the context of your state core. You will be able to return to your school and implement a complete hands-on lab science program from the top to the bottom of your school. You will also be able to review a comprehensive curriculum specific to your state.
  6. Science Safety, Chemical Recipes, and Discovery Centers

We will walk you through a complete, exciting science safety program. We cover use of chemicals, provide you with recipes so you can mix your own and save bank, policies for live animals and we will even present you with a set of Science Safety Posters to hang in the classroom. Finally, we will discuss the value of Discovery Centers in the classroom and give you 50 different ideas for things to introduce to your kids that will extend their learning and capture their imagination.
