Labrats: Overview

What is LabRats?

  1. It's an after-school, hands-on, science enrichment program.
  2. These programs are taught in an elementary school by a certified teacher.
  3. The kids meet for an hour and fifteen minutes for up to four days to learn about a specific topic of science.
  4. Each kid will pay for and receive a kit that is his/hers to keep at the end of the class.
  5. Each kit has the materials to do up to 20 lab activities for the after school programs and up to 50 for the summer science programs as well as a lab book to record their observations.
  6. The kids get a high quality program, a kit full of materials, instruction, and the opportunity to do labs that are unique.

What do I get?

  • Along the way, the teacher presenting the program can earn extra income.
  • Add up to 8 hours of continuing education credits to his/hers transcript.
  • Pick up as many as 500 new lab ideas to add to his/hers repertoire.
  • Fatten up the school science budget all at the same time.
